Short instructions
Follow the numbered positions in the image and use each instruction as its matching cue.
Grip two stable dumbbells in a wide-foot plank with wrists under shoulders and the trunk braced against rotation.
Breathing: Breathe steadily; do not hold your breath.
Keeping the hips as square as possible, row one dumbbell toward the ribs, replace it, and repeat on the other side.
Breathing: Exhale on each row and inhale as each dumbbell returns to the floor.
Step or jump the feet forward, raise the chest, and clean both dumbbells to the shoulders using the hips rather than curling them slowly.
Breathing: Exhale through the effort.
Descend into a controlled squat, drive through the feet, and press the dumbbells overhead as you reach full standing.
Breathing: Inhale into the squat, then exhale as you stand and press overhead.
Lower the dumbbells to the shoulders, hinge and squat to place them down, then return to the stable plank.
Breathing: Inhale through the controlled return.
